John asks…
Tips on going green while still living with the Parents?
I am 20 years old, and a full time college student. I am still living at home with my parents, because it is financially easier for me and my dad while I’m going to school, we’re not bad off, just my dad can help me out financially this way. I’ve been reading a lot about going green, and I would like to do more for the environment. I’ve been saving plastic bottles and paper for a friend of mine who takes them to be recycled, so I’ve got that going. But I would like to know what are some other eco-friendly things I could do while still living in a house of seven.
Thank you!

Another great way to help the environment is by cutting down on unnecessary paper use in the office and at home. Being a “paperless” business or home isn’t easy, but there are certainly some steps that you can take to get there. Check out Office Live Workspace from Microsoft for a great cloud computing solution. It offers users the ability to create, save, access, and share documents and files online for free (You get 5GB of free storage!). There is even a plug-in for MS Office that lets you save your files to your online Workspace directly from whichever Office program you are using. Not only can saving things in the cloud help the bottom line, but you’re also contributing to saving our planet!
